Job Summary

The Lead Agent Cargo is responsible for aspects of the Agent Cargo position (as described below) as well as the following:  The maintenance of a satisfactory quantity and quality of work by assigned personnel, explaining and demonstrating work procedures and methods including safety, apportioning and scheduling assigned work, observing and analyzing the methods used and the results achieved, bring problems to the attention of management and assist management in the utilization of tools, equipment, and materials.  Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.  Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.

Perform work according to Company rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • The work of Agent Cargo includes computer data entry; prepares all flight documents; interfaces with U.S. Customs; prepares all import and export documentation, and accepts/distributes cargo in accordance with applicable air carrier and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. 
  • Compiles lists of customers for use as sales leads. 
  • Solicits orders or talks with customers to complete sales
  • Quotes prices and terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.  Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company's delivery schedules.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • read and interpret printed instructions; write legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.
  • Ability to work with different levels of management in communicating issues.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Retrieve import/deliver export documents to and from aircraft.
Minimum Requirements
  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority (if applicable) permit to use ramp side service roads.
  • Ability to drive all cargo handling equipment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Previous lead experience helpful
  • Knowledge of company operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Worldwide Flight Services Rules and Regulations helpful
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. No exceptions.
  • Ability to step up to an above ground level.
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift.
