Job description

Job Title: Customs Compliance Cargo Coordinator

Department: Customs Compliance

Reports To: Manager of Customs Compliance


SUMMARY:

Using tools and communication skills, will recognize, coordinate, and resolve daily issues the Kalitta Air fleet may encounter related to customs related issues, cargo manifesting, and other cargo related customs issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Will update various vendors with changes and requests for information.
  • Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to foresee and respond to any concerns they may have, to include published regulations and local operating procedures.
  • Monitor Cargo manifesting on all Kalitta Air flights
  • Ensure that cargo messaging is in place on all Kalitta Air flights

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. While this is a list of requirements, you must be prepared to accept requests for assistance from other departments, within reason.

  • College graduate required and/or technical school, or military service desirable; past job experience in a similar field will also be considered.
  • Experience with communicating with government and local officials
  • Have the ability to maintain and keep current with documentation for record keeping.
  • US Geography a top priority
  • Worldwide ZULU and LOCAL time awareness
  • Ability to interact effectively, assertively and with other department in Kalitta Air OCC
  • Computer literacy required, EXCEL in particular
  • Demonstrate the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Demonstrate through the interview process the capability to speak, read and write the English language. This will ensure adequate communications with other areas relevant to safety, security, and operational control. As reported before, be able to at least approach other cultures and languages to get information.
