General Manager - Chesapeake Home Services

Ready to Lead, Grow, and Make an Impact?

Chesapeake Home Services is growing, and we are looking for an experienced General Manager who knows how to lead people, drive performance, and turn business goals into results.

This is not a "keep the wheels turning" management position. We need a hands-on, results-driven leader who can take ownership of the business, develop strong teams, improve operations, drive revenue and profitability, and help take Chesapeake Home Services to the next level.

The General Manager will oversee sales, operations, personnel, financial performance, and strategic execution across the company. The right person will be comfortable making decisions, holding teams accountable, coaching leaders, analyzing the numbers, solving problems, and creating the structure needed to support continued growth.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, understand the Plumbing and HVAC service industry, and know how to lead a business with a "No Excuses, Make It Happen" mindset, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Own

As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and direction of Chesapeake Home Services, including:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations of the business
  • Directly managing and developing our Sales, Installation, and Office teams
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining strong field and office personnel
  • Driving revenue growth while maintaining acceptable net profit margins
  • Maintaining a strong command of the company's P&L and balance sheet
  • Translating company goals into clear priorities, expectations, and measurable results
  • Helping formulate and execute the company's strategic plan
  • Creating accountability across departments and ensuring leaders follow through
  • Developing and maintaining an annual marketing plan and budget
  • Ensuring consistent, structured training in Technical knowledge, Customer relations, Sales and lead management, Company processes and SOPs
  • Ensuring daily huddles are productive, consistent, and focused
  • Conducting regular one-on-one meetings with key leaders
  • Managing employee compensation requests and pay adjustments
  • Understanding and effectively utilizing company software and systems
  • Aligning workload and workforce needs to maximize productivity and profitability
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction, industry developments, competitors, market opportunities, and opportunities for expansion
  • Communicating the company's mission, goals, and direction in a way that creates alignment throughout the organization
  • Upholding and reinforcing Chesapeake Companies' Core Values at every level of the business

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a proven leader who understands that great results come from a combination of strong people, disciplined operations, financial accountability, and consistent execution.

Our ideal candidate brings:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple teams or business functions
  • Plumbing and HVAC service and installation industry experience
  • 5+ years of direct P&L experience
  • A strong understanding of financial statements, margins, revenue, labor, and profitability
  • Proven experience developing teams and holding leaders accountable
  • Exceptional organization and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • A professional, solutions-focused leadership style
  • A bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred

The Person Who Will Succeed Here

You are not afraid of accountability - you expect it.

You know how to get into the details without losing sight of the bigger picture. You can have a conversation with a technician, coach a department leader, review a P&L, address a customer issue, and make a strategic decision - sometimes all in the same day.

You create clarity when things are moving quickly. You identify problems and solve them. You set expectations, follow up, and make sure commitments turn into results.

Most importantly, you know how to build a team that performs.

Why Chesapeake?

We are a rapidly growing company with significant opportunity ahead of us. The person who steps into this role will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the organization and play a major part in helping Chesapeake Home Services reach its full potential.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunities
  • Performance-based compensation tied to profitability
  • 100% company-paid employee health insurance premiums
  • Competitive vision, dental, life, and disability benefits
  • 401(k) and retirement education/planning
  • Tuition reimbursement for approved programs
  • Monthly contribution toward employee gym membership

Think You're the Leader We Need?

We are looking for someone who wants ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to build something - not someone looking to simply maintain what already exists.

If you have the industry knowledge, business acumen, leadership ability, and drive to move a growing organization forward, we want to hear from you.

Bring your experience. Bring your ideas. Bring your leadership.

No Excuses. Make It Happen.

  • company management: 3 years (Required)
  • Plumbing and HVAC Industry: 5 years (Required)
