Job description

Job Summary:
This position will work to build, grow, and create strategic alignment within Cardinal Logistics current asset carrier base as well as work to expand the carrier base to support the growth of the organization. This individual will be responsible for daily engagement with carriers via email, phone, text, or personal face to face visit to expand the partnership of Cardinal with a domestic trucking carrier base. This role will focus on strategic development over tactical load coverage and will report directly to the Manager of Pricing and Procurement.
Essential Functions:
  • Engage directly with domestic carriers from the dispatcher level all the way up to ownership.
  • Identify current key lanes the carriers are presently engaged with as well as back haul opportunities.
  • Establish contracted pricing on key lanes for Cardinal Logistics.
  • Work with carriers through an RFP process to ensure that we are aligning all available carrier resources to expand Cardinals footprint with our customers and at the same time bring additional opportunity to our carrier partners.
  • Actively meet with Carriers via phone, video, or in person to foster relationships and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as a carrier advocate within Cardinal Logistics and assist in creating a carrier incentive programs to drive a higher degree of carrier loyalty.

Other Requirements:
  • Reports to Manager of Pricing and Procurement
  • 1-2 years progressive operations and/or procurement roles in the non-asset brokerage space
  • Four year degree required
  • Self-starter, growth minded and entrepreneurial
