    Job Details
  • Registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit providing high level of care for Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.
  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
  • Assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) preps patients for procedures and recovers them post procedure.
  • Works with high risk, high acuity patients with superb outcomes.
  • Performs bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV).
  • Admit patients, prep patients for Cath procedures including charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation.
  • Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV) and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE).
  • Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation.
  • Sedate, circulate, and document bedside procedures CV & TEE.
  • Discharge patients including teaching, documentation, and physical discharge.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have RN license in Arizona or compact state license.
  • Must have ACLS certification.
  • Must have BLS certification.
  • Experience in PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Cath Lab, or Surgery Center considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Required years of experience in specialty: 2 years.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift varies: 3 x 12 hour shifts: Days (0600-1830, 0700-1930, 0800-2030).
  • Call requirements include Saturday and Sunday.
  • Call is on a rotational basis approximately once every six weeks, may be as frequent as once every 4 weeks.
  • Call includes Saturday from 0700-1700 and Sunday from 0700-1400.

  • Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) specializing in care for Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures.
  • Unit performs bedside procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV).
