Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift - 3x12 Hours (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality critical care services in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex ICU patients, including cardiac, neuro, trauma, and post-surgical cases.

This opportunity is ideal for nurses who thrive in high-acuity settings and are comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill ICU patients.
  • Monitor, assess, and manage patients with cardiac, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical conditions.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to respond to rapid changes in patient conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards.
  • Support patient and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with:
    • Cardiac ICU patients
    • Neuro ICU patients
    • General surgery patients
    • Trauma care
  • Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Schedule & Unit Details
  • Shift: 3x12 Mid Shift (15:00 - 03:00)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:3
  • Floating may be required based on unit needs
  • 48-hour schedules available
