Job description

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Cath Lab Supervisor/ Manager and with medical oversight from physicians, the Cardiac Cath Lab Radiological Technologist will carry out various technical procedures that involve the administration of prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging purposes. The Cardiac Cath Lab Radiological Technologist will be expected to function with independent judgment and with little or no assistance to maintain department standards in a sterile environment. At management's discretion, employees may be assigned to work at any of the Powers Health hospitals as needed. Employees will be assigned "On Call" coverage to meet the needs of the department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduate of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited program.
  • Current ARRT certification/ registration required.
  • Must have a current license to operate radiologic equipment in the State of Indiana.
  • One-year general radiology experience preferred.
  • Experience in Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Radiology Lab, Electrophysiology or Special Imaging preferred.
  • Should have a working knowledge of angiographic/ electrophysiological procedures and sterile technique.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months from starting date.
  • Successful completion of basic ECG course and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Course.
