Pay: $55,000 base salary + Commissioned Earning Potential

About the Role

Adamson Insurance & Associates is hiring a Personal Lines Sales Associate to sell home and auto insurance and help clients choose the right coverage with confidence. This role is built around strong systems, clear expectations, and a team-first environment where following process and coaching is required for success. We value individuals who are confident in their abilities but willing to adapt to a proven system. This is a performance-driven role with defined daily activity expectations and monthly sales targets. Candidates should be comfortable working toward measurable production goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Sell personal lines insurance including Auto, Home, Umbrella (and related lines)

  • Handle inbound leads and referrals, gather accurate client information, and set expectations

  • Present quotes, explain coverage in plain language, and recommend appropriate options

  • Follow up consistently and move opportunities through a structured sales process

  • Document all activity accurately in our agency management system

  • Coordinate with internal support teams and carriers to deliver quotes efficiently

  • Hit activity and sales goals with urgency, professionalism, and consistency

How We Work

  • We follow a defined, step-by-step sales process, not individual sales styles
  • All team members are expected to be coachable and open to feedback, regardless of experience level
  • We operate as a team, meaning coordination with support staff and adherence to systems is required
  • Success in this role comes from consistency and execution, not reinventing the process

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license OR Active Personal Lines Insurance license (required)

  • Strong phone and communication skills

  • Demonstrated coachability and willingness to take direction from leadership

  • Ability to follow a structured, step-by-step sales process consistently

  • High attention to detail and follow-through

  • Comfortable working with multiple computer systems (AMS/CRM, carrier portals, quoting tools)

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality for an in-office role

Preferred Experience

  • Personal lines sales experience (home/auto) in an independent agency or captive agency

  • Inside sales, consultative selling, account management, or call center experience

  • Experience working in a metrics-driven environment with daily follow-up expectations

Compensation

  • $55,000 base salary

  • 25% of all first-term commissions paid to the agency

  • Training, scripts, and proven internal processes to help you succeed

  • Growth opportunity in a stable, locally owned agency serving Ankeny for the past 32 years
