As America's Crop Insurance Company™, we're headquartered in the U.S. and have been owned by the farmers we insure for over 125 years.

Pledge Insurance Advisors (PIA), a Farmers Mutual Hail (FMH) company, is looking for an individual to lead and manage the Pledge Insurance Advisors Agency retail sales and operations functions. Responsible for strengthening client relationships, improving retention, developing Client Success Advisors, expanding referral sources and centers of influence, and helping drive agency growth. Leads from the front with clients, prospects, referral partners, carrier partners, producers, and internal team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: At least eight years of progressively responsible insurance agency, account management, client advisory, sales, underwriting, or related insurance experience is preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance or related field (Associate's degree required).

Skills: Experience with agency management systems, specifically Applied Epic, is highly desired. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs especially Outlook, Excel, and Word. Demonstrated ability to advise clients, evaluate coverage needs, prepare proposals, negotiate with carriers, and support new business and renewal strategy.

Licenses or Certifications: Property and Casualty Insurance License required. Crop Insurance license may become required based upon assigned book of business. Life and Health or Excess and Surplus Licenses are strongly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides comprehensive management for insurance agency operations and sales including managerial oversight of producers and Client Success Advisors.
  • Partners closely with the senior leadership on agency priorities, client strategy, team development, growth initiatives, and leadership execution.
  • Serves as a senior advisor and relationship leader for key accounts, complex client relationships, strategic opportunities, and high-value clients.
  • Builds and maintains trusted client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, insurance knowledge, consultative guidance, and follow-through.
  • Leads strategies to improve client retention, account rounding, cross-selling, and organic growth within the existing book of business.
  • Coaches producers and Client Success Advisors to identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand account penetration.
  • Creates renewal strategy for key accounts, including pre-renewal planning, remarketing decisions, carrier negotiations, proposal development, and client communication.
  • Identifies coverage gaps, service opportunities, referral opportunities, and new business potential within existing client relationships.
  • Helps drive conversion of new business opportunities by supporting prospect meetings, proposal strategy, follow-up discipline, and client onboarding.
  • Analyzes carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, pricing trends, coverage forms, endorsements, exclusions, and available market options.
  • Develops carrier submission strategies for new business, renewals, remarketing, and complex account placements.
