Job description

The Manager, Insurance Sales, is a senior sales leader responsible for driving revenue growth and advisor adoption of life, long‐term care, and disability insurance solutions across all Cetera Financial Group channels. This role serves as a strategic insurance thought leader, designing and executing high‐impact sales initiatives, partnering closely with internal growth teams, and leading a team of experienced insurance sales specialists.

The ideal candidate brings deep insurance expertise, a proven track record of sales leadership, and the ability to align insurance strategies with Cetera's broader growth and financial planning priorities.

What you will do:

To be successful in this role, the Manager, Insurance Sales will:

  • Drive Revenue & Adoption
  • Lead insurance revenue growth initiatives and increase advisor utilization of life, long‐term care, and disability insurance within holistic financial planning.
  • Champion the integration of risk management solutions into advisor practices.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Design, implement, and execute sales campaigns aligned with firmwide strategic priorities.
  • Define and maintain a strong insurance opportunity pipeline in partnership with internal teams and external carriers.
  • Advisor Education & Engagement
  • Deliver and coordinate impactful sales training for advisors through national conferences, regional meetings, onboarding programs, and other forums.
  • Translate complex insurance concepts into clear, actionable guidance for advisors.
  • Cross‐Functional & External Partnerships
  • Partner with Regional Growth Teams, Advanced Planning, Recruiting, and NFG Brokerage to accelerate insurance adoption and sales effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with insurance carrier sales teams to enhance solution awareness, positioning, and usage across the advisor base.
  • Platform Oversight & Due Diligence
  • Review and understand due diligence materials for life, long‐term care, and disability insurance solutions offered on the Cetera risk management platform.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Due Diligence team, supporting ongoing monitoring of carrier strength, stability, and competitiveness.
  • People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of five experienced insurance sales specialists.
  • Drive accountability to individual KPIs, support professional development, and foster a high‐performance, high‐engagement team culture.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of sales management experience within the insurance industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance sales, including life, long‐term care, and disability products.
  • Active Life and Health Insurance license.
  • Series 7 and/or Series 6 registration.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance applications and underwriting processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

  • Strong understanding of advisor needs, service excellence standards, and satisfaction measurement.

  • Curriculum development, instructional delivery, and measurement of training effectiveness for individuals and groups.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $140,000, plus competitive incentive compensation package. Compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Compensation ranges may differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
