Principal Systems Analyst

Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. Capstone Research Corporation is headquartered in Huntsville Alabama. We are a customer-oriented engineering services company providing world class research and development support across the Department of Defense (DoD): Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Capstone Research Corporation has an immediate opening in Colorado Springs for a Principal Systems Analyst to support warfighter integration between USAF PAE C3BM and the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Staff. The Principal Systems Analyst supports warfighter integration between the USAF PAE C3BM Deployable Systems Branch development team and the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Staff, with primary focus on the J3 Operations and J8 Requirements/Resources communities. This position will serve as a senior operational and technical bridge between capability developers, operational users, test stakeholders, and joint staff organizations. The ideal candidate will understand how command and control capabilities are developed, tested, fielded, and employed in real-world operational environments, particularly in air defense, homeland defense, integrated air and missile defense (IAMD), joint all-domain command and control (JADC2), and deployable C3BM systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior warfighter integration advisor between the C3BM Deployable Systems Branch and NORAD/USNORTHCOM staff elements
  • Engage J3 and J8 stakeholders to understand operational gaps, mission priorities, requirements, resource constraints, and capability tradeoffs
  • Support development team understanding of operational workflows, mission threads, user needs, and command relationships
  • Assist in planning and coordinating demonstrations, exercises, tests, experiments, and operational assessments.
  • Support joint analysis, test planning, data collection, issue identification, and after-action reporting
  • Help align programmatic activities with operational priorities, acquisition timelines, test events, and stakeholder expectations
  • Develop briefings, decision papers, integration plans, stakeholder engagement materials, and senior-leader communications
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across operational, programmatic, technical, and test communities
  • Represent the team in meetings with government, military, contractor, and joint staff stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant military, government, contractor, or defense industry experience
  • Operational experience in one or more of the following areas: air defense; homeland defense; JADC2; joint fires; IAMD; and deployable operations
  • Familiarity with NORAD, USNORTHCOM, USAF, or joint staff operations, especially J3 and/or J8 functions
  • Experience supporting requirements development, capability integration, acquisition programs, modernization efforts, or operational fielding
  • Experience with test events, exercises, experimentation, operational assessments, joint analysis, or mission-based evaluations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior military leaders, government civilians, engineers, developers, testers, analysts, and operational users
  • Strong writing, briefing, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Active DoD security clearance required. Must be eligible to access classified systems and facilities as required. Active Secret or higher required; TS/SCI preferred
  • Ability to travel 20-35%, as required for test events, user engagements, and operational coordination
  • BS Degree with relevant technical and project management experience
  • Must be US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior assignment or direct support to NORAD, USNORTHCOM, USAF MAJCOM, NAF, AOC, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command staff
  • Experience with C3BM, JADC2, ABMS, IAMD, air domain awareness, deployable C2, or homeland defense mission systems.
  • Experience working with acquisition or system development teams
  • Knowledge of JCIDS, PPBE, acquisition lifecycle activities, test and evaluation processes, or operational requirements development
  • PMP, DAWIA, test and evaluation, operations research, or joint planning credentials are a plus
  • Recent experience supporting exercises, wargames, demonstrations, or operational experimentation.
  • BS STEM Degree (MS Preferred)
