THE WORK:
  • You'll perform and oversee inspection of structural work including bridges, retaining walls, and related heavy civil components
  • You'll ensure construction complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • You'll coordinate closely with contractors, designers, and client representatives on structural issues.
  • You'll review submittals, RFIs, and field changes related to structural elements.
  • You'll document inspection activities, maintain daily reports, and support project controls systems.
  • You'll identify and proactively resolve construction and quality issues in the field.
  • You'll provide mentorship and guidance to junior inspectors and field staff.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • 15+ years of experience in construction inspection, with a strong focus on structural/bridge work
  • 10+ years of experience on heavy civil transportation projects (rail, roadway, grade separations, or similar)
  • 10+ years of experience in structural inspection, including reinforced concrete, steel structures, and foundation systems
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Strong understanding of Caltrans standards and specifications preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Caltrans Structure Representative, ACI, AWS, or equivalent) strongly preferred
