Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking a Projects Manager for our Decatur, AL or Salt Lake City, UT location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Manage capital projects (up to $50M), which would include, but not be limited to, scoping and estimating the projects, authoring capital expenditure requests for the same, leading multi-functional project teams, providing cost and schedule control, identifying required resources, and coordinating between all affected parties.
  • Communicate project status with senior employees and project stakeholders; develop and deliver formal presentations to management as necessary.
  • Develop proposals or RFQ's for the purposes of scoping or estimating capital investments; work with vendors and/or contractors to optimize system performance.
  • Develop technical specifications, ensuring that equipment conforms to local specifications and availability. Prepare and maintain Engineering drawings, including Engineering and Process Flor Diagrams, Assembly Drawings, and Detailed Design Drawings.
  • Design and/or troubleshoot systems related to instruments, controls, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer. Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Provide oversight for commissioning and startup of new or modified equipment.
  • Ensure safe working practices are carried out to comply with site standards on health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and fulfill responsibilities associated with project engineering teams
  • Knowledge of a range of engineering disciplines (instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and chemical)
  • Demonstrated ability to both work within and lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to perform safety analysis, especially HAZOP or FEMA
  • Experience in developing and reading of mechanical design drawings

Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
