Job Description
W. R. Grace is seeking a Capital Project Manager to drive end-to-end capital projects at our Curtis Bay, MD site. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects, you will translate strategic business objectives into robust project plans while managing a diverse portfolio. In this role, you'll partner closely with technology, maintenance, and operations teams to maximize value through strong leadership over project scope, cost, and schedule from initial kickoff to final closeout.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of projects based on business objectives through effective project execution planning.
  • Manage projects across several categories including plant maintenance, productivity, safety, and strategic growth.
  • Organize and lead capital projects through adherence to the appropriate project management methodology.
  • Work with the team to acquire and release project resources throughout project phases.
  • Ensure accurate execution of project scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Align business objectives, project objectives, and the basis of design.
  • Develop roles and responsibility definitions and ensure each functional team member understands their role and deliverables.
  • Interface with Corporate Capital Project Leadership and Business Capital Planning Manager.
  • Drive capital project work as described in Grace standards.
  • Ensure data is accurate and meets deadlines prior to initiating detailed design.

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, structural or electrical engineering.
  • 3+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or chemical industry.
  • 7+ years of overall engineering and/or project experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or chemical industry
  • Experience with project management software to control scope, schedule, and budget.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or visa transfer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
  • Experience using MS Project / Primavera P6
  • Experience utilizing the Front-end loading method of project development
