Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full time Kennel Assistant to join our team.ย 
About this roleย ย ย ย 
The Veterinary Kennel Assistant is a key hospital team member who supports and assists the veterinarians and veterinary technicians. They ensure the safety of pets, clients, and other associates and the continuity of quality veterinary care. This opportunity is an excellent first step in growing your career in veterinary medicine.ย ย ย ย ย 
The Kennel Assistant willย ย ย ย 
  • Leverage the veterinary teamย ย ย ย 
  • Restrain pets for medical treatments and diagnostics according to doctor orders.ย ย ย ย 
  • Ensure treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs are clean, stocked, and organized to ensure they are ready for incoming patients and emergency needs.ย ย ย ย 
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging.ย ย ย ย 
  • Disinfect pet cages after useย ย ย ย 
  • Laundering and restocking patient bedding using proper cleaning protocols and maintaining hospital cleanlinessย ย ย ย 
  • Be willing to cross-train in other areas when necessaryย ย ย ย 
ย Salary, Schedule, and Benefits Include (but are not limited to)ย ย ย ย 
  • Salary range for this position is $17 to $21 hourly,ย ย ย ย 
  • Schedule is full time role- includes days, nights, overnights and weekends.
    • Part time is also available
    • The initial training schedule may differ.
    • There is a holiday rotation.
    • This is not a seasonal position ย ย ย ย

  • You must be authorized to work in the U.S. and over 18 years old. ย ย ย ย 
  • Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds and work on your feet most of the day.ย ย ย ย 
  • Ability to learn various veterinary software programs effectivelyย ย ย ย 
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks appropriatelyย ย ย ย 
  • Ability to anticipate and be detail-oriented to provide high patient care.ย ย ย ย 
  • Confidence in themselves, in their abilities, and in their teamย ย ย ย 
  • Excellent clear communication skillsย ย ย ย 
  • Must be professional, pleasant, and engagedย ย ย ย ย 
  • Must be attentive and demonstrate a high level of respect to referring veterinarians, clients, and co-workersย ย ย ย 
Preferred Qualificationsย ย ย ย 
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programย ย ย ย ย
