Under the supervision and direction of a licensed Georgia physician and in accordance with an approved Board-authorized job description, the Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to critically ill cardiac patients in the intensive care setting. The PA performs patient assessments; establishes medical diagnoses; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; implements therapeutic interventions; and coordinates patient care as part of the cardiovascular critical care team.

Practice is conducted in accordance with the Georgia Physician Assistant Practice Act, institutional policies, and Medical Staff-approved privileges.

  • A Master’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice provider in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Composite Medical Board and certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Please refer to the Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Must hold American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
