Job Summary

Spaulding Cape Cod seeks an outstanding Senior Medical Director to lead Inpatient and Ambulatory Operations.


Qualifications

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and network Chief Medical Officer, this role oversees inpatient care, quality, safety, compliance, discharge planning, and fiscal performance.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, optimizing clinical performance, coordinating discharges, meeting length-of-stay targets, supervising medical directors, and championing quality and patient experience initiatives.

The senior medical director works closely with executive director to provide clinical leadership on all operational matters. You'll promote communication, collaboration, physician and APP well-being, clinical compliance, equity, infection control, and population health management.

Success requires building trust and credibility with staff and demonstrating approachable, progressive leadership.

Requirements: MD or DO, ACGME residency, board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or Internal Medicine, active clinical practice (.6 FTE), and at least five years of clinical and administrative leadership. Must dedicate at least two days per week to administration while maintaining clinical duties. Strong problem-solving, relationship-building, consensus-building, and communication skills required. Experience in complex healthcare settings is preferred.
