Job description

Fairchild Freight is a rapidly growing multi-modal logistics company specializing in the transportation of high-value, time-sensitive perishables, and general commodities throughout North America. Our over-the-road and regionally focused dedicated platforms service the lower 48 states, Western Canada, and Alaska.

We're looking for a motivated Capacity Manager to join our operations team at our headquarters in Phoenix, AZ.  The ideal candidate is experienced in logistics, self-motivated and eager to take on responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and attract new prospects
  • Cover assigned loads using preferred carriers, phone solicitation, and load boards
  • Maintain 98% on-time service
  • Identify and develop reputable and safe carriers
  • Stay on top of market trends in transportation industry
  • Communicate effectively, efficiently with assigned logistics coordinator
  • Promote team environment and profitable growth

Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in logistics/transportation industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of tracking software such as Truckstop, DAT, Macro Point, Fourkites, One Network, etc
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-driven with a strong work ethic
  • Preferred 2+ years of transportation experience working in an operations or sales capacity, 3PL, brokerage provider or carrier for hire
  • Strong analytical thinking skills

Work location: Corporate Office, Phoenix AZ

This is a full time, exempt position, with a Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule.
