ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving company growth by developing strategic partnerships, expanding firm relationships, and increasing brand presence across the legal industry. This role owns outreach strategy, pipeline management, follow-up execution, and overall sales performance, ensuring opportunities are consistently progressed and converted. The Sales Manager maintains awareness of industry trends, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities, while ensuring the Retrēv brand is represented professionally and consistently. Internally, this role creates structure and accountability across the sales function, ensuring the team is aligned, supported, and operating as a unified, high-performing group. The Sales Manager works cross-functionally with leadership and internal teams to ensure seamless execution from initial outreach through long-term partnership success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Leadership & Business Development

• Lead the company’s sales function, driving new business growth across target markets while improving market share and overall return on investment.

• Develop and execute sales strategy, ensuring consistent pipeline growth, strong positioning, and effective follow-through across all opportunities.

• Build and manage high-value relationships with prospective and existing firms, focusing on long-term partnership and expansion

• Stay closely aligned with industry trends, firm needs, and market shifts to ensure the right services are positioned at the right time.

• Oversee sales pipeline activity, lead tracking, and opportunity management to ensure strong follow-through and accountability.

• Identify and pursue new markets, referral channels, and strategic partnerships that drive meaningful growth and strengthen the company’s presence.

Sales Process Management

• Own and maintain structured sales workflows, outreach systems, and reporting processes that drive consistency and performance.

• Track and manage all outreach activity, proposals, meetings, follow-up, and conversion to ensure opportunities are actively progressing.

• Ensure all sales commitments and positioning align with company capabilities, turnaround expectations, and service standards.

• Continuously assess and improve sales processes to increase efficiency, consistency, and conversion.

• Develop and refine sales materials, messaging, and value positioning to remain competitive and effective.

Firm Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key prospective and existing firm relationships.

• Lead high-level conversations with firms, driving alignment on scope, expectations, and how work will be executed.

• Clearly communicate and educate firms on services, processes, and expectations to support successful engagement.

• Build trust and credibility with attorneys and decision-makers, positioning Retrēv as a reliable, long-term partner.

• Represent the company in meetings, lunches, conferences, and other in-person settings with professionalism and strong presence.

• Own relationship development and progression, ensuring opportunities are advanced and ultimately converted.

Cross Department Coordination

• Coordinate with operations and internal departments to ensure sales expectations are realistic and aligned with service delivery.

• Communicate new opportunities, firm requirements, and onboarding needs clearly across departments to support seamless execution.

• Work closely with leadership to ensure a smooth transition from sales through implementation and ongoing account support.

• Maintain a strong understanding of internal departments, including processes, capacity, and operational challenges.

• Identify internal gaps or misalignments that may impact growth, retention, or execution, and address them proactively.

• Partner with marketing to ensure sales materials, messaging, and overall positioning are accurate, relevant, and aligned with the company’s brand.

Team Development & Accountability

• Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability across sales activity.

• Coach and develop team members, leveraging individual strengths while addressing gaps to drive overall performance.

• Lead by example and maintain a team environment that is aligned, proactive, and results-driven.

• Reinforce consistent outreach, follow-up sequences, firm touchpoints, and relationship-building strategies.

• Encourage proactive business development, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Experience in sales, firm relations, legal support, business development, or a similar relationship-driven role.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong relationship-building, presentation, and follow-up skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills and accountability.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external firms.

Natural ability to build rapport and be well-received by others, with strong interpersonal presence

and relationship-building skills.

• Professional presence and confidence in meetings, calls, presentations, and business development conversations.

Preferred

• Prior leadership, supervisory, or team development experience.

• Experience in legal support, healthcare support, records retrieval, or BPO services.

• Experience with CRM systems, lead tracking, reporting, and outbound sales strategy.

• Strong understanding of sales process management, pipeline development, and long-term relationship building.
