Business Development Manager - Precision Manufacturing

Are you a driven sales professional who knows precision manufacturing and thrives on winning new business? Chandler Industries is looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive growth across our precision machining and sheet metal fabrication capabilities.

The successful candidate will be able to develop, and achieve ambitious goals related to acquiring new business, and have a proven track record of delivering results. The primary focus will be on pursuing new business, developing market and segment opportunities that meet company targets while also sustaining a strong commercial relationship with the existing customer base. The successful candidate will possess the ability to develop a productive working relationship with General Managers and support teams at various operating divisions.

Develop and execute business development plans aligned with company strategies and objectives for high potential customer accounts; measure progress against action plans.

  • Identify target prospects, key decision makers, and buying influences within targeted market/customers
  • Drive growth by establishing and developing relationships with new and existing customers through regular customer engagement, site visits, and business reviews.
  • Meet with prospective customers to understand business needs and to develop tailored manufacturing solutions.
  • Qualify opportunities based on Chandler's capabilities, strategic fit, and commercial criteria.
  • Solicit RFQ opportunities from targeted prospects that align with Chandler's manufacturing capabilities and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and support pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness, customer value, and company profitability.
  • Communicate customer requirements and expectations within the organization (i.e. key details, critical timeframes, program duration, risk, etc.).
  • Provide input regarding sales opportunity "filter" criteria and emerging capability needs.
  • Understand/Communicate competitive threats and opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Research and monitor key competitors to identify market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities to gain market share.
  • Provide and maintain accurate account, contact, and opportunity information within Epicor for assigned market/customer base to maintain sales/program funnel for assigned accounts.
  • Provide inputs to annual and quarterly enterprise sales forecasts for assigned customers.
  • Support Program Management and Customer Service teams needs as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all functions and staff within the organization to achieve positive customer outcomes and profitable growth.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to communicate significant news and information regarding accounts, markets, customers, etc.
  • Provide input to business development and other internal meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in contract manufacturing services sales to the aerospace, defense, industrial, electronics and medical markets.
  • A minimum of 5 years successful outside sales experience with the OEM's and/or tier I suppliers.
  • Existing relationships with major customers in one or more served markets.
  • Precision machining and sheet metal fabrication background.
  • A creative approach to creating customer solutions that leverage Chandler's multi-divisional capabilities.
  • Ability to assemble complex RFQ & RFP responses.
  • Willingness to travel 25% and capability of working autonomously and maintaining a regular and flexible travel schedule to meet customer demands.
  • Engineering background is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude is critical.
  • Broad strategic vision and frontline sales focus with ability to meet strategic and tactical goals.
  • Must be a team player and possess polished interpersonal skills as well as professional written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects in a timely manner.
Pay Range Details

Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
