Cascade AIDS Projectย (CAP) is the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organization (ASO) in Oregon and Southwest Washington that provides the LGBTQ+ community and beyond with compassionate healthcare. CAPโ€™s mission is to promote well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. Cascade AIDS Projectย is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-orientedย Staff Accountant.ย The Staff Accountant maintains the general ledger, prepares, and posts journal entries, prepares account reconciliations, records check and bank deposits, maintains the fixed asset ledger, and assists the Finance team in the preparation of audits and financial statements.ย 

This is a Full-Time role working at our Davis St. location in the Old Town area of Portland, OR. The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with an option of a hybridย 

The starting pay for this position is $67,000-ย $72,000 a year depending on experience.ย 

Who You Are

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or a related field and two years of work experience, OR
  • Five years of experience working as a full-cycle accountant.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and FASB accounting standards.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Strong accounting system experience, including posting journal entries and reconciling GL accounts.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (use of Pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc.)

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Maintains the General Ledger, prepares, and posts journal entries
  • Prepares account reconciliations.
  • Records check and bank deposits.
  • Maintains the fixed asset ledger.
  • Assists the Finance team in the preparation of audits and financial statements.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships across a multicultural spectrum of organizations and professionals.
