Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Production worker to join our team at our candy store in Gatlinburg, TN. The ideal candidate will have experience in kitchen production and a passion for creating delicious treats. Responsibilities include preparing chocolate confections, following recipes and guidelines for quality control, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Kitchen Production worker will work closely with the rest of the team to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality products.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of food items in the Goo Goo Chocolate Co kitchen, ensuring that all ingredients are properly measured and prepared for cooking. The Kitchen Production Prep Team Member will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as assisting with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed. Goo Goo Chocolate Co Kitchen Production Prep Team Members work under the direct supervision of the Assistant Store Manager. As a kitchen production prep team member, you will make assigned products in the Goo Goo Chocolate Co store, including chocolate shells and premium candy bars. This role may include the preparation of custom chocolate confections and desserts using ingredients and recipes specific to our products. A successful team member must have a passion for chocolate manufacturing and the ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
People: Guest Experience and Production
• Provide a pleasant and memorable experience to each guest personally representing Goo Goo Cluster’s Core Values and purpose.
• Excite guests about their custom creations by demonstrating a passion for chocolate production, clean working methodology and holding yourself to a high-quality standard.
• Attend all training/informative sessions aimed at improving and reinforcing knowledge and understanding of company operations.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with other team members and communicate effectively with a positive and patient attitude.
• Move the company forward in its market niche of hand-crafted premium chocolate and confectionery products for retail directly to the end consumer.
• Provide integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture values, and purpose of Goo Goo Cluster.
• Contribute to both individual and store production goals set by the General Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Be a brand ambassador for Goo Goo Chocolate Co by answering questions regarding the product, and history, and encourage knowledge sharing no matter what the audience.
Operations: Production and Performance
Able to use culinary equipment and tools such as tempering machines, knives, etc., including preventative maintenance.
• Able to solve problems and use critical thinking when obstacles arise and able to plan, coordinate and execute production with limited supervision.
• Ensure the efficient daily set-up of workstations and equipment, as well as the end of the day general cleaning and monthly deep cleaning duties.
• Monitor quality control of all products and ingredients by following recipes and instructions, tasting products, maintaining proper date-coding procedures, inventory stock rotation, and proper receiving and storing of delivered goods.
• Ensure that all production conforms to health, food safety, and hygiene standards set by Goo Goo Chocolate Co.
• Demonstrate the ability to meet physical requirements including standing, stooping, bending kneeling, twisting, lifting heavy items more than 20 pounds, and other physical activities.
• Use safe work practices to eliminate slips, trips and falls and utilize proper lift techniques.
• Never operate equipment without proper training and knowledge and notify the General Manager immediately of any damaged equipment, hazardous conditions, or unsafe behavior.
Requirements:
• Must have or obtain Food Handlers Permit within 14 days of employment.
• Ability to follow and execute recipes.
• Basic mathematics, recipe measurement calculations and data entry capabilities are essential to be successful in this position.
• Ability to lift to 50lbs.
