Pecan Jacks Ice Cream & Candy Kitchen is opening in Charleston this summer, and we're looking for the founding crew to help bring it to life. We're a family- and community-focused ice cream and candy shop with a Lowcountry soul — handcrafted ice cream, pralines, brittle, and chocolates made fresh and served with genuine Southern hospitality. If you love working with your hands, take pride in doing things right, and want to help build something new from day one, we want to meet you.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day production of ice cream, pralines, brittle, candy, and chocolates to Pecan Jacks recipes, techniques, and quality standards.

• Supervise, train, and schedule the production team — and help hire and develop new makers as the crew grows.

• Own batch quality and consistency — spot and correct issues before product ever reaches the case.

• Operate and care for specialized equipment, including batch freezers, chocolate tempering machines, and candy kettles.

• Manage ingredient inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out), handle ordering, and flag shortages before they become a problem.

• Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary kitchen in line with food-safety and health-code (DHEC) standards.

• Produce our 21+ alcohol-infused ice cream flavors in line with recipes and responsible-handling practices.

• Keep pace in a fast, high-volume kitchen — especially during busy seasons and weekend rushes.

• Work hands-on alongside the team. This is a working manager role — you'll both run production and make product.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery, catering/prep, or confection/pastry/ice-cream production (confection or frozen-dessert experience is a big plus, but not required).

• Leadership ability — comfortable directing, training, and motivating a small production team.

• Must be 21 or older (required to produce our alcohol-infused flavors).

• ServSafe or food-handler certification, or willingness to obtain it promptly.

• Comfortable following exact proprietary recipes and procedures, with strong attention to detail and consistency at volume.

• Willing to complete paid training, which may include travel to our Florida flagship.

• Reliable, hardworking, and excited to grow with a brand-new location.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time, salaried position; 40-50 hours/week, including weekends and peak seasons.

• Competitive salary based on experience.

• Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Fast-paced production kitchen with both hot equipment (candy kettles reach ~300°F) and cold environments (batch freezers).

• Ability to stand for extended periods and to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of ingredients and supplies.
