Description:

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE 

This position supports the overall operation of the Spirit Mountain Campground through a combination of building and grounds maintenance and guest service support. Employees in this role are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campground environment while assisting with indoor guest needs and outdoor trail or facility projects as needed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain campground cleanliness including campsites, fire pits, restrooms, and common areas 
  • Perform routine groundskeeping (mowing, trimming, landscaping, debris removal) 
  • Monitor campground activity and respond to guest needs or issues 
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of campground facilities 
  • Deliver firewood and assist with campsite turnover 
  • Respond to maintenance requests coming from both guests and leadership and identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs (basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.) 
  • Assist with facility upkeep across campground and surrounding Spirit Mountain properties which includes      cleaning bathrooms and campsite office
  • Support event setup and tear-down as needed 
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely 
  • Provide customer service support including answering questions and assisting guests 
  • Support check-in/check-out or campground communications as needed 
  • Maintain a friendly, helpful presence with guests at all times 
  • Assist with phone/email coverage or guest inquiries during slower periods or staffing gaps 
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time seasonal role (Spring through Fall) 
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and variable shifts based on business needs 
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Schedule changes and assignments are managed in accordance with operational needs and union guidelines 
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Age of 18 or over
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors 
  • Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, or maintenance work (including basic plumbing and electrical systems)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Flexibility to support multiple departments 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance, landscaping, or campground operations 
  • Experience working in customer service or hospitality 
  • Ability to operate equipment (mowers, small machinery, etc.) 
  • Valid driver’s license 


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting 
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
