Academy Camps is an overnight sports-specific sleepaway camp experience that takes place on the campus of Suffield Academy (CT).

Positions available
Every summer, we hire 40+ staff to deliver our camp program to hundreds of dedicated athletes. These jobs are typically posted between August and October of the year preceding camp (about 9-10 months before your start date). These positions include:

Our full-time roles are often made available first to staff hired in the summer, giving them the option to step into year-round roles where they shape and grow Academy Camps at the highest level. This full-time team does everything to keep the business running and growing in the off-season from sales, marketing, customer support, recruiting, project and program management.

While the specific qualifications will vary for each role, everyone on our team has the following in common:

Dates & Commitment
For our summer positions, all staff are required to attend Pre-Season Training (an all-staff orientation) before campers arrive. Specific contract dates will be discussed during the interview and outlined in your offer letter.
  • 2026 Staff Dates: June 22 - August 8 (Sports Directors, Ropes Course, and Lifeguard Staff arrive June 20. Leadership Team Staff arrive June 18)
  • Camp Leadership Team: start remote onboarding as early as May 1
