Job description

Our EM group is built on the belief that great medicine isnt measured by volume alone, its about people, precision, and presence.   SCHEDULE & COVERAGE: 

  • Minimum of 120 hours per month, with the opportunity to work additional shifts if desiredno cap on monthly shifts, and all are paid at the same rate 
  • 12-hour and 10-hour shifts available 
  • Rotations between the main ED and FSEDs are expected, though exclusive FSED coverage may be considered 
  • Main ED staffed daily with 5 physicians and 24+ APPs 
  • APPs with PIT (Provider in Triage) coverage  
  • The FSEDs will be staffed according to volume 
  • Nursing coverage 1:3 (1:4 max)  
  • 1.51.7 PPH in the main ED 
  • LWBS under 1% 
  • No call responsibilities are required for this position 

Shifts are structured to promote flexibility, ensuring a sustainable work-life balance. 

  FACILITIES & TECHNOLOGY: 

  • Main ED: 42 beds with dedicated high-, moderate-, and low-acuity zones  
  • Average radiology read times of 7 minutes, with CT reads averaging just 3.2 minutes 
  • Dedicated radiology coverage 24/7 with the same radiology group around the clock (no nighthawk service) 
  • Closed ICU with 24/7 intensivist coverage and in-house surgical support 
  • Chest Pain Center & STEMI program with 24/7 interventional cardiology 
  • Level III Trauma Center with low transfer rate (~2%) and high continuity of care 
  • 50k-55k annual ER visits 
  • ACGME teaching hospital opportunities to teach without the burden of required lectures 

 COMING IN 2027 - TWO NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART FSEDs 

  • Socastee (opening spring 2027): 8 beds  
  • Hwy 22 & 90 (opening late summer 2027): 12 beds  
  • Full imaging capabilities including MRI, CT, X-Ray, and Ultrasound 
  • Full lab capabilities  
  • Dedicated critical care transport units at both sites (ACLS & BLS)

  • Competitive shift-based pay structure (W2) - no 1099
    • Main ED: $278/hour for days, $300/hour for nights
    • FSEDs: $250/hour for days, $260/hour for nights
