Job description

Join our team as a Clinical Assistant/DataEntry supporting a critical Epic EHR Data Abstraction Project. In this role, you will assist with the review, validation, and transfer of patient clinical information from legacy electronic health records into Epic. Your work will help ensure data accuracy, continuity of care, and a smooth transition for healthcare providers and patients during a major EHR implementation.

Position Details

  • Position: Clinical Assistant/Data Entry (Epic Data Abstraction Project)
  • Assignment Length: 5 Weeks
  • Start Date: August 31, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
  • Shift Length: 8 Hours
  • Shift: Days / Regular Business Hours
  • Weekends: None
  • Call Requirement: None

Responsibilities

  • Review patient records from legacy systems, including eClinicalWorks (eCW) and Cerner.
  • Validate, abstract, and enter patient information into Epic.
  • Reconcile clinical data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Transfer key patient information, including:
    • Problem Lists
    • Allergies
    • Medications
    • Immunizations
    • Medical and Surgical Histories
    • Other clinic-specific clinical documentation
  • Identify discrepancies and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain data integrity and patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Support project teams in ensuring a successful Epic implementation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Experience working with healthcare records, medical documentation, or electronic health records preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
