What is a calibration program manager?

Calibration Program Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating an organization's calibration activities. They ensure that all measuring instruments and equipment are properly calibrated and compliant with industry standards and regulations. Their duties include developing calibration procedures, managing schedules, maintaining documentation, and leading calibration teams. By ensuring accurate calibrations, they help maintain product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within the organization.

How does a calibration program manager typically collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams?

A Calibration Program Manager works closely with both engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure all measurement instruments and devices meet compliance and accuracy standards. This collaboration often involves coordinating schedules for routine calibrations, communicating technical requirements, and implementing corrective actions when discrepancies are found. By fostering strong cross-functional relationships, Calibration Program Managers help maintain product quality and regulatory compliance, while also streamlining processes to minimize downtime. Regular meetings and clear communication are key aspects of successful collaboration in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a calibration program manager, and why are they important?

Job description

Your role in our mission

As our Program Manager, People Programs, you will design, launch, and scale programs that strengthen our workplace culture, foster growth, and drive retention. You will drive the day to day operations of core People programsโ€”focusing on onboarding, performance management, engagement, and talent development. Partnering closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders, you will help translate organizational needs into structured programs that support employees across their entire employee lifecycle.

  • Drive Employee Feedback & Action: Manage employee listening strategies (engagement surveys, pulse checks, exit insights). Translate complex survey data into actionable strategies for executive leadership and people managers.

  • Optimize Onboarding & Hybrid Connection: Refine onboarding workflows and resources to ensure new hybrid and remote hires are supported, informed, and connected from day one.

  • Enable Performance & Growth: Develop and maintain company-wide performance system. Partner with HRBPs to facilitate seamless performance cycles (OKRs, quarterly performance reviews, calibrations). Create lightweight toolkits to help managers give actionable feedback.

  • Scale Manager & Team Enablement: Identify core capabilities gaps alongside HRBPs to design and deliver practical manager workshops, learning tracks, and career pathing resources.

  • Measure Program Effectiveness: Establish clear program success metrics (participation, eNPS, retention, cycle completion).

  • Experience & Education: 5+ years in HR, People Operations, or Employee Program Management, with 2+ years directly involved in engagement, performance management, employee experience, or talent development programs. Bachelorโ€™s degree required.

  • HRBP & Leadership Collaboration: Proven ability to partner effectively with HRBPs and other People Team leaders as well as coordinating across company leadership to execute programs.

  • Performance & Goal Systems: Direct experience coordinating performance management processes, calibration sessions, or goal-setting frameworks (e.g., Lattice, Culture Amp, Betterworks).

  • End-to-End Ownership: Proven track record of taking program concepts from initial design to full rollout, including change management and communications.

  • Analytical & Empathetic: Skilled at identifying human trends behind raw survey data and converting friction points into practical solutions.

  • Strong Communication & Facilitation Skills: Comfortable leading manager workshops, and writing clear internal communications.

  • Inclusion Mindset: Experience embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into program design and supporting ERGs.

  • A connected experience: We prioritize high-touch collaboration and flexibility. Whether you are working from our San Francisco or Phoenix offices or joining us as a fully remote team member, we provide the digital-first tools and intentional culture to keep you synced and supported
  • Invested in your future: A competitive salary and a 401(k) with a 5% company match to help you build long-term financial security
  • Holistic well-being: We provide the resources you need to thrive, from flexible time off and paid parental leave to an annual wellness allowance and comprehensive health coverage
  • Professional & personal growth: Take advantage of a suite of premium perks, including Udemy access, childcare assistance, pet insurance, and a bevy of additional savings through Beneplace
