Job description

Calibration Technician

Location: Onsite – Richardson, TX
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) – must be flexible for 2nd (2:00 PM–10:30 PM) or 3rd shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) based on business needs.
U.S. Citizenship Required

About the Role

Supports optical manufacturing operations through calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced instruments and tools. The Calibration Technician will perform and coordinate calibrations for production and test equipment across multiple optical manufacturing areas.

You’ll ensure calibration quality standards, maintain traceability, and support audits in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations on RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, and optical equipment.

  • Calibrate inspection, test, and factory tools per company and industry standards.

  • Maintain traceability and documentation in calibration management systems (ARAMIS or equivalent).

  • Collaborate with experienced equipment technicians across multiple manufacturing areas (Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning, Optical Coating, Assembly/Test).

  • Support quality audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Troubleshoot calibration and equipment issues; read and interpret electrical schematics.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience calibrating tools, instruments, or equipment in a manufacturing or lab environment.

  • Hands-on experience with RF, electrical, mechanical, ESD, or optical equipment.

  • Proficiency with lab asset management systems for calibration tracking.

  • Strong math skills (SI units, conversions, traceability standards).

  • Ability to read schematics and perform basic troubleshooting.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Associates Degree required.
