Job Summary
Title: Speech and Language Pathologist
Division: Elementary School (TK-4th)/ Middle School (5th-8th)
Location (In-person): ChangeMakers Academy (Vallejo or San Pablo)
Reports to: Director of Special Education & Student Services
Status: Part-time or Full-time, Exempt, (During the Academic Year)
Position Summary
The Speech and Language Pathologist serves as a resource for the implementation of the Special Education program for Caliber Public Schools. They will uphold the mission and values established by Caliber Schools. This is for a part-time position. You will also receive weekly training and support through high-quality professional development and tailored one-on-one coaching.
Essential Job Functions:
-Provide direct, individual or small group instruction to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP.
-Collaborate with other personnel working with Special Education students.
-Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS).
-Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for Speech and Language services, and case-manage students whose only services in IEP are Speech and Language related.
-Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services as established by State standards.
-Consult with school and home office staff.
-Develop instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the mainstream classroom, including, when appropriate, social-skills instruction.
-Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Caliber Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
-Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
