Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Operate cage wash machinery in order to sanitize primary animal holding cages, support equipment and general access areas, with occasional guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participates in cleaning, maintenance, and decontamination of cage wash facility and other assigned areas. Conducts microbiological monitoring on cages and equipment. Assesses and reports results.
• Transports equipment to new locations with occasional guidance.
• Records information in accordance with outlined procedures. Recognizes and reports discrepancies in logs.
• Monitors and maintains supplies for cage wash facility and other assigned areas.
• Operates equipment and ensures it is functioning properly and in accordance with equipment manuals. Identifies and reports equipment failures or safety concerns.
• Assembles diverse caging with necessary supplies and food with occasional guidance.
• Assists in training of staff in general procedures.
• Understands and complies with operating and regulatory requirements related to care of laboratory animals.
