Power Engineering Services, a NETA-accredited electrical testing and commissioning firm and a Quanta Services operating company, is actively recruiting experienced Medium Voltage Cable Splicers and Terminators to support large-scale data center infrastructure buildout across multiple active West Texas project sites. This is a hands-on craft position working directly on 35 kV medium voltage cable systems in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment alongside a high-performing commissioning and construction team.


  • Prepare, splice, and terminate 5 kV, 15 kV, and 35 kV medium voltage cable in accordance with manufacturer instructions, project specifications, and company safety requirements
  • Perform hands on cable preparation, insulation prep, semi con removal, grounding, shielding, stress control, lug installation, and final termination assembly
  • Install and work with outdoor terminations, indoor cold shrink terminations, standard dead break connections, screened separable connectors, and coupling connectors
  • Read one line diagrams, cable schedules, termination details, and manufacturer installation instructions
  • Verify phase identification, conductor identification, shielding continuity, grounding, and cable routing before energization
  • Support insulation resistance, continuity, phasing, and other pre commissioning checks as directed
  • Maintain clean work areas, protect cable and termination materials, and document completed work
  • Follow all LOTO, PPE, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site specific safety procedures
  • Coordinate with construction, testing, and commissioning teams to complete work safely and on schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience installing, splicing, and terminating medium voltage cable, preferably through 35 kV
  • Demonstrated experience with cold shrink terminations and dead break or separable connector systems
  • Experience with shielded EPR or XLPE medium voltage cable, including copper tape or wire shielded cable
  • Ability to work from drawings, cable schedules, and manufacturer instructions without constant supervision
  • Strong safety record and reliable attendance
  • Ability to work outdoors in West Texas conditions, including heat, wind, dust, and extended hours as required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel or work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TE Raychem CSTI 353G, RSTI 6851 01, and RST CC 6851 01, or equivalent medium voltage termination systems
  • Experience on substation, utility, renewable, industrial, or data center power projects
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, NFPA 70E awareness, CPR, or first aid training
  • Experience supporting turnover, commissioning, and energization activities
