Job Summary:
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior, hands-on AI technical lead to drive the application of next-generation AI technologies within VLSI and EDA workflows. This role involves designing and deploying AI/ML solutions and collaborating with CAD teams to enhance engineering productivity through innovative AI systems.
Responsibilities:
• Design, prototype, and deploy production‑quality AI/ML solutions applied to VLSI / EDA problems, including (but not limited to) design automation, verification, debug, optimization, QA, and flow enablement
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and continuously evolve approaches to maintain technical relevance, efficiency, and impact
• Collaborate closely with global CAD teams to design and develop agentic and adaptive AI systems, from problem formulation and architecture selection through implementation, evaluation, and integration
• Serve as a hands‑on AI technical advisor across teams through design reviews, prototyping, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to rethinking traditional CAD abstractions in an AI‑driven, agentic workflow model
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in software development, AI workflows, VLSI CAD, or adjacent technical domains
• Hands‑on experience building and applying modern AI/ML systems in real‑world engineering environments
• Strong expertise with LLMs and related technologies, including prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG pipelines, tool/function calling, agent frameworks, etc.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain AI systems beyond research or experimentation
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 10+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 9+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in software development, AI workflows, VLSI CAD, or adjacent domains
• Strong software engineering background with experience integrating AI solutions into production codebases
• Experience designing, prototyping, and deploying AI solutions applied directly to VLSI design or EDA infrastructure
