Job description

LS Busway, a division of LS Cable & System USA, offers Ex-Way (UL) Sandwich Type, Data-Way (UL) Track Type, NSPB, and CR-Way Medium Voltage systems, all in full compliance with U.S. industry standards. Our bus plugs are compatible with Class R, J, and L fuses, as well as MCCB breaker types ranging from 100A to 1200A, providing the flexibility to meet a wide range of protection requirements.

We are seeking Sales Managers - one in the Midwest and another in the Northeast! We are growing our team. The position is remotely located in those regions of the US; however, travel is required.

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The Busway Sales Manager plans, maintains, and manages LS Cable's sales in a defined territory. This individual is responsible for the management of independent sales representative organizations, sales to distribution, distribution sales to contractors, and end users. This individual will also be involved in the execution of technical specification activities to increase the brand image and brand identity for all energy LS Cable products. The individual will accomplish this through targeted customer calls, technical presentations, speaking engagements, and connectivity partner activities and support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involvement in development and implementation of Distributor, Representation, and Contractor Programs, such as:
  1. Training
  2. Joint sales calls with Reps and Distribution
  3. Maintenance of the company Database
  4. Program Updates
  • Conduct training as needed/required for End users, contractors, and representatives.
  • Serve as the LS Cable contact for assigned end users.
  • Establish a relationship with contractors and distributors.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management regarding new business opportunities and help efforts to justify new investments.
  • Supporting business development.
  • Individuals will coordinate their efforts with LS Cable manufacturers' representatives in their area of responsibility through:
    1. Joint calls
    2. Seminars
    3. Training
  • Communicate with Marketing about competitive environment and product enhancements as required.
  • Gain insight into customers' internal corporate initiatives and respond with suggestions for programs and tools, positively differentiating LS Cable from the competition
  • In an effort to assist in measuring performance, the employee shall meet the following objectives:
    1. Follow up on leads/new contacts and establish a relationship with contractors and distribution in the territory.
    2. Via a conference call or face-to-face meeting, discuss accounts, targets, and opportunities with each manufacturer's representative firm on a bi-weekly basis.
    3. Work jointly with manufacturer's reps to target opportunities.
    4. Meet assigned sales objectives in target product lines on an annual basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant electrical cable industry experience and/or training
  • Current familiarity and contacts in the designated territory are required, as the candidate will be responsible for immediately uncovering and developing opportunities.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

The candidate must be able to perform all essential duties and must be extremely strong in the areas of:

  • Market knowledge of the electrical wire and cable for commercial and industrial applications.
  • Superior communication (written and verbal) talents, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • General technical comprehension of the properties and standards for electrical wire and cable.
  • Requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, clients, and customers
  • Be able to analyze pricing and contribution margin.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to derive an optimal solution in an environment containing conflicting or limited product requirements and performance characteristics.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to use a PC or laptop, and the Windows operating environment
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
