Job description

A Logistics company in North Portland is hiring 1 Cable Technician and 2 Cable Pullers for a 6 week project!

Job Duties Cable Technician:

  • Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a) and fiber optic cabling
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and cable run documentation
  • Perform cable terminations (RJ45, patch panels, fiber connectors)
  • Test and troubleshoot network cabling using certification tools (Fluke, etc.)
  • Install racks, patch panels, cable management systems
  • Ensure installations meet industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI)

Job Duties Cable Puller:

  • Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, etc.)
  • Assist in installing cable pathways including tray, conduit, and raceways
  • Label and organize cables according to design specifications
  • Support cable termination (basic assistance role)
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently

Qualifications Cable Technician:

  • 2โ€“5+ years of low-voltage or structured cabling experience
  • Experience terminating and testing copper and/or fiber cabling
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with industry testing equipment

Qualifications Cable Puller:

  • 0โ€“2+ years of experience in cabling, construction, or similar hands-on environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts
  • Comfortable in physically demanding environments (ceilings, crawl spaces, etc.)
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Basic understanding of tools and job site safety
