Position: Project Engineer

Location: Valley Green, PA

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally. We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems Engineering team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support engineering and manufacturing initiatives across our global operations. This role will focus on driving project execution, improving assembly processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and international manufacturing sites to meet business objectives.

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking progress and driving accountability across stakeholders
  • Coordinate and drive NPI, and Mass Production milestones, ensuring successful transition into volume manufacturing.
  • Support and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements
  • Drive manufacturing readiness activities including process validation, work instructions, tooling readiness, training, and production documentation.
  • Support capacity planning and production ramp activities to ensure alignment between customer demand and manufacturing capability.
  • Collaborate directly with global manufacturing sites, particularly in Asia, to support production and process implementation
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Interface with Business Unit leadership, engineering teams, and operations to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide technical support related to stamping, plating, molding, and assembly processes
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders, including leadership updates and project reviews

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering role
  • Experience with assembly process engineering (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with interconnect industry processes such as stamping, plating, molding, and assembly (preferred)
  • Experience with product qualification, process validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • NPI/Product Launch experience
  • Proven project management experience, including creating and executing project plans
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across global teams
  • Ability to travel frequently to Asia and Mexico to support manufacturing operations
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus
