Salary: Based on experience

Shift:Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM (other hours as needed)

A Construction Supervisor is needed to oversee the daily operations of the Blue Ridge Communications Construction Department. The position will also coordinate and overee Palmerton Telephone construction as needed. Will work closely with other construction supervisors as well as the Engineering department.


Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all aerial and underground construction projects that include splicing of strand, coax, fiber and copper telephone cable
  • Interacting and coordinating with utility companies, construction companies and various state and local government entities
  • Inventory and ordering of construction material and tools
  • Safety, dielectric testing and documentation of all trucks and equipment during energized utility work
  • Participating in the construction on-call schedule
  • Highway safety procedures including flagging and work zone setup
  • Q/C contractors and invoicing for accuracy
  • Q/C checks of completed projects
  • Providing information and training to construction personnel
  • Following all company protocols in accordance with union contract
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 5-10 years experience in cable and fiber construction
  • Established residency in Pennsylvania
  • Valid PA Drivers License and good driving record
  • Exceptional knowledge reading blueprint and fiber splicing sheets to provide logistics and technical information to construction personnel and contractors
  • Exceptional knowledge of and experience with both RF and Fiber Optics
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Excellent Communication skills Oral and Written
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills
  • Ability to manage multiple construction crews for priority projects and storm damage repair
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally in a team environment
