Job description

Overview
The USU Eastern Library & Learning Commons is looking for friendly, hardworking, and reliable students to join our team in serving the Utah State University Eastern campus community in Price, Utah for FALL TERM 2026.
FALL 2026 Business Hours
M - TH: 8 AM - 9 PM, Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM, Sunday: 4 PM - 9 PM
*Staff must work select Sundays each term.*
Responsibilities
  • Staffing the library service desk at the USU Eastern Library & Learning Commons, including:
    • Assisting patrons with computer and printing needs.
    • The check in/check out of library materials.
    • Providing general reference and information services for visitors.
    • Providing referrals to other staff/departments as needed.
    • Recording statistics.
    • Using a cash register for payments.
  • Assisting in opening and closing the library during business hours. *Staff must work select Sundays each term.*
  • Providing good customer service and attentiveness while answering questions, giving directions, and providing library services in person and over the phone.
  • Completing assigned projects and maintenance of the library building and collection as directed.
  • Re-shelving books, keeping the collection neat and organized, and item inventory.
  • Light cleaning and dusting.
  • Occasional assistance with the rearranging of library spaces.
  • Preparing and stickering new items for loan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Currently registered and active student with USU Eastern in Price, Utah.
  • Must be available to work between 8-15 hours a week; availability to work some Sundays is required.
