In addition to that, we require:
• Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors (11th or 12th grade)
• A minimum GPA requirement of 3.5 or higher to ensure that the students are maintaining a good academic standing
• Currently enrolled in a public or private high school within Greater Jackson Area
• A 500-750-word essay answering a prompt about career goals, the expected impact of the externship, and what the applicant hopes to contribute to the program. Essay prompt and submission details will be provided from the C Spire Recruiting team after applications have been reviewed
• A letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or administrator who can speak to the student's character, work ethic, and potential for success in a professional environment
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen. Must be able to lift 15lbs, have finger/wrist/arm mobility, and finger dexterity.
