Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented Lead Inventory Control Specialist to oversee inventory control, receiving, and fulfillment operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse processes, coordinating daily workflow, and supporting team productivity across receiving, replenishment, and fulfillment functions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, extensive warehouse operations experience, and forklift certification with hands-on experience operating a Bendi sit-down forklift and/or order picker. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a high level of accountability, and the ability to lead by example while maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership amp; Team Support:

  • Lead daily inventory control and warehouse activities to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support, train, and mentor warehouse associates on receiving, inventory control, safety procedures, and fulfillment processes.
  • Coordinate workflow priorities with Fulfillment, and Inventory Management teams.
  • Monitor team productivity and ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for resolving inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Oversee and assist with palletizing received inventory according to company standards.
  • Ensure accurate receiving and documentation of inventory in the Warehouse Management System.

Inventory Control:

  • Utilize a Bendi sit-down forklift and/or order picker for replenishing pick face locations.
  • Lead and conduct cycle counts on pick face locations and backstock areas to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner.
  • Support implementation of inventory control strategies and continuous process improvements.

Forklift and Equipment Operation:

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and submit preventative maintenance requests as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is turned off and locked out when not in use.
  • Promote and enforce safe equipment handling practices among team members.

Fulfillment, Picking amp; Packing:

  • Support fulfillment operations to ensure accurate and timely order picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Coordinate with the Order Fulfillment team to meet daily shipment goals and deadlines.
  • Monitor order accuracy and assist in troubleshooting fulfillment-related issues.
  • Support additional warehouse projects and operational initiatives as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Previous team leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse workflows, inventory management practices, and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency with eCommerce and Warehouse management systems
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in time-sensitive situations.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions
