POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Merchandiser is a product visionary who drives the commercial success of BYLTโ€™s apparel collections from concept to consumer. This role blends data-driven decision making with sharp trend intuition to build compelling assortments that resonate with our target consumer and deliver strong financial performance. Owning the end-to-end merchandising strategy, the Sr Merchandiser translates BYLTโ€™s brand vision and market insights into profitable product strategies. Success in this role requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of the apparel lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop seasonal and annual merchandising strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Build comprehensive assortment plans by category, channel and customer segment
  • Define product architecture (good/better/best), price ladders, and margin targets
  • Lead SKU rationalization and lifecycle management to optimize productivity
  • Own category level sales, margin and inventory targets
  • Partner with Planning to forecast demand and manage OTB
  • Analyze sell through, markdown performance and inventory turns to drive profitability
  • Recommend pricing and promotional strategies to maximize revenue and margin
  • Monitor fashion trends, competitive landscape and market shifts
  • Conduct seasonal hindsight analysis to inform future buys
  • Translate trend insights into actionable product briefs for Design and Product Development
  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and seasonal performance reviews
  • Present category performance and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Identify risks and opportunities - proposing proactive action plans
  • Provide clear direction on product briefs, target customers, and competitive positioning

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion or related fields
  • 5-8+ years of merchandising experience in apparel (multi-channel preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of apparel product lifecycle and sourcing timelines
  • Proven ability to drive profitable growth and manage assortments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
