Job description

Job Summary: 

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the development of future demand, production, and inventory plans for assigned product categories that drive the Supply Chain Planning processes. 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze sales reports and historical data to forecast product demand. Maintain forecasting system in order to develop future forecast.  

  • Generate constrained weekly production plans. 

  • Develop and maintain tracking models for schedule attainment, distress, AOP attainment, and other required areas. 

  • Establish and monitor inventory targets at warehouse locations  

  • Adjust forecast for any change of business or promotional activities (features) received from sales. Manage and communicate incoming features to supply planners and production facilities. 

  • Create and maintain the optimum inventory profile to ensure fulfillment of customer requirements considering forecast accuracy, schedule compliance and production smoothing requirements to maximize order fill rate and minimize obsolescence. 

  • Analyze/Correct issues impacting order fill rate and distressed inventory goals. 

  • As assigned, create and maintain the optimum master production schedule considering plant capabilities, raw material availability,  customer service goals and inventory objectives through the most effective and efficient use of resources.  

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • 3+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills and abilities ot succeed in the role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Strong analytical and statistical knowledge. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to collaborate with many areas of the company. 

  • Must be able to participate effectively as a team member. 

  • Attention to detail is integral. 

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are needed to generate and analyze reports for weekly and monthly processes. 

Education & Experience:   

  • Solid experience working with one or more of the major supply chain software packages. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain or Economics. 

  • Knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR), VMI, demand and supply planning and the Sales Operations Planning processes.
