Job description

Business Office Intermediate Associate

The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers financial and human resource transactional support for the university and health system.

The Business Office Intermediate Associate serves as a critical member of the Operational Support Team. Each Intermediate Associate processes mail, provisions online system access, and provides facility-related support. We work collaboratively as an onsite team providing administrative support for all operational teams. You will report to the Business Operations Supervisor.

The SSC maintains a strong focus on customer service with expectations for timely and accurate processing of requests. You will be working in a high-volume, transactional environment which requires a strong attention to detail. This position is expected to meet productivity & accuracy standards.

Work Location:

You will be 100% onsite. The operating hours for the Shared Service Center are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Your working schedule will fall in between these times to ensure adequate onsite coverage. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

Responsibilities*
  • Receive, sort, and distribute inbound mail and manage outbound mail
  • Identify, access, and complete facility and personnel issues that arise concerning safety, security, and emergencies
  • Assist in onboarding new team members with office equipment
  • Provide system access to multiple programs and other sources for all new/transferring SSC staff
  • Onsite support for staff, including managing conference rooms, setting up AV equipment, and providing tech support.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and computer equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications*
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience providing customer service
  • Intermediate level proficiency with computer data entry
  • 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
