Job description

Job Location: Memphis, TN
Pay Level: 1A
Summary:
The Hershey Company Memphis plant is aNon-Union plant producing products such as Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, and Good & Plenty, in a high-speed complex environment.
The Process Lead will help drive the Hershey Lean program at the Plant by developing and implementing process improvements and building operator capabilities in a TPM environment. This leader will drive process, system and operational improvements that are integral to facilitate in our vison to create a zero-loss culture. A core function of the role will be developing standards for executing tasks on the line (e.g.: changeovers) and training operators and mechanics to execute standards properly.
The Process Lead will own the centerline and changeover Daily Management Systems, in addition to driving actions through the other Daily Management Systems. He / she will own tracking and maintain the loss data on the line to ensure top losses are being addressed. The process lead is responsible to advance the zero-loss mindset though harnessing data and communicating the losses in an unbiased manner paired with a problem-solving methodology to rid the process of the loss. The Process Lead is a member Focused Improvement pillar and line centric leadership team, works in tight collaboration across the Business Unit team.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive daily problem solving and data driven planning as the problem-solving leader for the assigned Business Unit
  • Coach operators/mechanics on executing standards
  • Implement and sustain Hershey Lean program
  • Develop and manage equipment centerlines as needed
  • Improve and implement rapid changeover/Time To target Production initiatives
  • Develop standards for executing tasks on the line
  • Driving process efficiency on multiple production lines
  • Partner with project engineers/teams to ensure successful systems start-up during design and start-up
  • Assist in financial valuation for pipeline items, capital projects, new item costing, etc.
  • Provide visibility of top losses & Zero-Based Analysis across the site
  • Development of data collection through OsiPi, and development of improvement projects.
  • To be a Leader in Lean Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering initiatives: RCA, 8D's, SMED, Kaizen events, KANBAN, VSM, Time emotion study, Headcount optimization, Justin time, 5s etc.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
  • Strong leadership skills in leading teams of people
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence others in the organization when proposing change
  • Able to develop action plan based on problems identified on the floor
  • Works independently and takes ownership of driving improvements
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the company Experienced in data collection and analysis
    • Preferred experience with OSI PI, PowerApps, Power BI, O365 tools, etc.
    • Excel advance skills

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • BS degree in engineering or related discipline strongly preferred
  • 3+ years' experience in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Green Belt/ Black belt is preferred
  • TPM experience is preferred
