National Grid is hiring a Manager, Business Performance Improvement for our Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance department. This hybrid role is based in Waltham, MA.

The Role

The Manager, Business Performance Improvement leads and enables the MA business performance improvement team in delivering operational efficiencies for MA Gas business, at pace. This role is focused on operational improvement opportunities that strengthen business value and ways of working across MA Gas business.

What You'll Do
  • Review & ensure effective implementation and sustainability of business performance and process improvements to ensure return of benefits (Type 1 and Type 2 savings targets)
  • Challenge existing ways of working & continuously seek ways to do things better
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaborations and problem solving to ensure successful outcomes and deliver benefits
  • Facilitate resolutions to project conflicts
  • Manage multiple responsibilities, conflicting priorities, escalate risks and issues
  • Scope and analyze potential project opportunities and decide go forward plan with leadership
  • Manage highest performance benefit process improvement workplan for MA Gas business including managing walk in work
About You
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years prior people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team oversight required
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working with multiple stakeholders to drive outcomes required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting findings and recommendations to leadership required
  • Strong understanding of financials and ability to make informed decisions that support business performance continuous improvement required
  • Proven track record of delivering significant type 1 and type 2 savings from process improvement projects required
  • Proven ability to manage business performance change across a portfolio of projects that will impact stakeholders in MA Gas business required
  • Experience managing projects and activities focused on delivering superior end-to-end and/or operational performance and continuous improvement required
  • Ability to successfully bring together and drive cooperation across diverse teams with potentially conflicting goals and objectives required
  • Ability to coach and mentor others on continuous improvement tools and techniques required
  • Valid driver's license required

Salary

$142,000 - $167,000 a year
