Job Brief:  Sr. Consultant, Business Operations

The Senior Consultant, under the direction of the Senior Business Operations Manager/Director, Behavioral Health, leads strategic and consulting initiatives for the Behavioral Health department in the Georgia Region. The Senior Consultant will be either assigned to support Medicine Management or Therapy work but can cross cover and lean into any area within the overall department. Serves as both a broad-based business advisor and a Program/Project Manager in partnership with TSPMG Behavioral Health leadership team & Health Plan Behavioral Health business owners. The Senior Consultant drives efficient and effective operations and improvements, while achieving high-priority business objectives and outcomes. This position typically manages multiple projects and consulting initiatives concurrently with cross-functional resources and stakeholders and may require engagement of multiple Behavioral Health stakeholders and Executive-level Sponsors. Position takes accountability for all project work, functions independently with very minimal guidance. Although this position is assigned solely to Behavioral Health, other consulting and project work can be assigned in other Primary Care departments if needed.

What You Can Expect:

  • Leads Behavioral Health programs and projects that evaluate and enhance performance using operations and process  improvement knowledge and management. Identifies best practices and deficiencies and drives improvements which have  measurable outcomes. Maintains a working knowledge of Behavioral Health operations especially within programs/projects  assigned.

  • Provides project management leadership and will create and maintain project charters and project plans. Develops and presents  recommendations to Stakeholders, Behavioral Health, and Executive Leaders.

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative, results-oriented relationships with Behavioral Health and Executive Leaders, TSPMG and  Health Plan stakeholders. Identifies projects, manages implementations, and measures effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated experience with full lifecycle project management concepts for leading complex projects from inception to closure,  providing leadership and role models for same, and growing the depth of project management knowledge among KP and TSPMG  leadership.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor all BH programs. Will create presentations, communications, and trainings.

  • Will help to develop and prioritize Behavioral Health department strategies.

  • Leads problem resolution between interdepartmental groups across TSPMG, Health Plan, and interdisciplinary groups to  understand the issues and work through possible solutions.

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and healthcare industry expertise. Leads regional resources in workflow development,  training, systems deployment, and sustainability of initiatives to maximize positive outcomes, quality of care, efficiency, revenue  capture, and compliance. Serve as a business advisor.

  • Designs and delivers robust models and workflows for strategic initiatives. Develops and manages clinical operations and  department dashboards as required. Monitors key performance metrics and develops approaches and recommendations for  spread or intervention. Partners with TSPMG reporting resources to obtain needed information and project reports for leadership  review.

  • Leads projects for internalizing additional services within the Behavioral Health department. Leads internalization of additional  services into KP's Behavioral Health department; helps to identify additional services for internalization based on cost-effectiveness  and ROI analysis.

  • Partners with Business Operations team to help develop business cases for Behavioral Health projects including financial and  strategic assessment.

  • Complete research of best practices internally and externally to help drive Behavioral Health strategic priorities. Will identify  process improvement, best practices and efficiency opportunities, and share and provide knowledge to multi-disciplinary team.

  • Joins in formal MOB rounding within the assigned Area to discover areas of opportunity and identify best practices for spread.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters of Healthcare Administration, Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in Marketing Strategy, and/or other related areas.

  • 7+ years of consulting or similar experience within the healthcare industry
  • Excellent demonstrated consulting, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with proven record producing results, satisfying customers, reaching performance goals.
  • Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and management team members.
  • Demonstrated use and interpretation of quantitative reports and the ability to complete complex data analysis and make key operational and strategic decisions.
  • Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Excel to create presentations, workflows, and project plans.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as strategic and systems thinking capability.
  • Demonstrates proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneouslyWork experience in large multi-specialty medical group business practices.
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives through motivating and leading teams.
