Business Execution Consultant - Payments Operations
We are not accepting C2C or 1099 arrangements.

Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Contingent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Execution Consultant to lead large-scale, complex initiatives within Payments Operations. This role will drive end-to-end delivery across strategic programs, support agile transformation, and ensure alignment with enterprise risk and governance standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, influence senior leadership, and help modernize delivery practices in a highly regulated financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Delivery
  • Lead end-to-end execution of critical Payments Operations programs
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Oversee defect tracking, issue resolution, and risk mitigation
  • Support Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) and governance checkpoints
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise change management, risk, and control standards
Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Provide clear, executive-level reporting (SteerCo, leadership forums)
  • Partner with business, product, and technology teams across multiple workstreams
  • Proactively escalate risks and delivery issues
Agile Transformation & Coaching
  • Serve as an Agile coach and change agent across programs
  • Guide teams on Agile principles, ceremonies, and best practices
  • Support adoption of scalable Agile delivery models
  • Remove impediments to Agile maturity and delivery performance
Risk & Governance
  • Maintain strong visibility into risks, controls, and compliance requirements
  • Drive timely resolution of control gaps and remediation activities
  • Ensure programs meet regulatory and governance expectations
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Execution, Strategic Planning, or Implementation, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, military, or education
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project/program management experience in large, complex organizations
  • Proven success delivering in regulated environments (financial services strongly preferred)
  • Experience managing cross-functional, multi-stream initiatives
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Project delivery frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid)
    • Risk, control, and governance processes
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience as an Agile coach or transformation lead
  • Familiarity with payments processing, operations, or financial transformation initiatives
  • Experience supporting regulatory programs (e.g., ISO 20022)
  • Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills
