The Business Development Specialist will assist with tasks in support of the overall business development efforts in connection with pitches/RFPs, marketing events logistics, marketing collateral updates and other department projects. The person will also serve as the on-site business development contact for marketing events. Reporting to the Senior Manager or Director of Business Development for assigned practices, and with the support of colleagues across the platform, the Business Development team.This is a non-exempt position with a hybrid schedule, requiring you to be in the office three days a week or more if special events are taking place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with lawyers in assigned practices to execute business development plans, initiatives and activities

  • Creating, customizing and regularly updating pitch documents, directory submissions and other marketing content to ensure they are well written and positioned appropriately towards specific target audiences

  • Monitoring business, legal and geopolitical news to potential opportunities for individual partners and practice groups

  • Assisting with business development tasks related to onboarding and integration of assigned lateral partners

  • Executing and conducting follow up as appropriate with respect to client events and webinars, as well as other thought leadership campaigns

  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in professional services or law firm business development

  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills are critical to success as are collegial, collaborative and team player attributes

  • Candidate must be a self-starter who thrives on juggling numerous high visibility projects on fast timetables and can handle high-pressure environments

  • Candidate should have strong to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and some knowledge of applications specific to the legal field

  • Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater

  • Ability to grasp, lift or carry packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 75 lbs.

  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand or sit for an extended period of time

The Compensation range for this role is up to 38.50 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
