To thrive as a Business Development Public Relations professional, you need a solid background in communication, marketing, and relationship-building, often supported by a degree in communications, public relations, or business. Familiarity with CRM platforms, media monitoring tools, and public relations management software is essential. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills help professionals stand out in this role. These abilities are crucial for securing partnerships, enhancing brand reputation, and driving organizational growth.

What does a Business Development Public Relations professional do?

A Business Development Public Relations (PR) professional is responsible for building and maintaining relationships between an organization and its stakeholders while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Job description

ATTENTION: We have an opening for a paid internship, plus extensive training and orientation on the basics and fundamentals of working in a fast-paced public relations agency environment. The typical term is three months. This internship includes a paid stipend awarded at the end of the program upon successful completion.
Important: This internship is designed for recent graduates pursuing Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field. Prior internship, campus leadership, or relevant project experience is strongly preferred. A full-time role following the completion of the internship program may be available, depending on the company's growth at that time.
Eberly & Collard Public Relations is a national firm specializing in integrated marketing communications, branding, product positioning, thought-leadership campaigns, event planning, public/media relations, digital marketing, SEO, demand generation, social media, influencer marketing and advertising. Our main office is based in Midtown Atlanta, and our satellite office is located in New York City.
Our Atlanta office has an immediate opening for an entrepreneurial, self-starting individual to join our growing team. This internship is ideal for a strong writer and highly organized project coordinator who is eager to learn how modern digital PR and integrated marketing programs are planned, executed, and measured. Candidates may have held prior titles such as recent graduate, Public Relations Intern, Communications Intern, Marketing Intern, Account Coordinator Intern, or Social Media Intern.
We are looking for people who believe we can accomplish so much more together than apart. People who are ready to jump right in, love collaborating, and value our culture of inclusion and transparency.
Requirements
The Position:
  • Supporting media relations efforts through research, media list development, editorial calendar tracking, and coverage monitoring.
  • Assisting with drafting and proofing PR and marketing deliverables such as press releases, pitches, media materials, blog outlines, social content, and internal/external communications.
  • Compiling and organizing reporting inputs (coverage recaps, basic social analytics, campaign status notes) and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Assisting with coordination for client events, tradeshows, and meetings, including agendas, logistics, and post-event follow-up tasks (as applicable).
  • Collaborating with the team on digital-first storytelling, including content repurposing across earned, owned, and paid channels; interest in SEO and emerging search visibility (GEO/AEO) is a plus.
  • Performing general project support tasks to keep client deliverables on schedule, with close mentorship from senior team members.

Benefits
This internship includes a paid stipend awarded at the end of the program upon successful completion.
Skills and background required:
  • Four-year degree (or equivalent coursework) in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and attention to detail; familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style is preferred.
  • Professional communication skills and comfort collaborating across a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with organization, responsiveness, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms; experience with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace is required (Canva/Adobe experience is a plus).
  • Professionalism and discretion when working with confidential client information.

Why Should You Apply?
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays.
  • Rich benefits package includes health, dental, vision and retirement plans.
  • Bonus "Employee Incentive" program.
  • ECPR "Give Back" Program.
  • Paid Parking.
  • Great clients and creative/interesting campaigns.
  • Upbeat, collaborative team environment.
  • Promotions available.
  • Summer Fridays program.
  • Gym membership included.
  • Professional development and mentorship programs offered by senior team members.
  • Celebration of individual and agency milestones (birthdays, work anniversaries, new client accounts, etc.).
