Labcorp is seeking a field-based Oncology Development Executive (Outside Sales) to join our team in the Wilmington/Fayetteville/Myrtle Beach territory.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Territory Growth

  • Identify and drive new business acquisition, competitive conversion, and revenue growth.

  • Develop and execute territory strategies to increase adoption of Labcorp Oncology solutions.

  • Achieve revenue, market share, and new account objectives.

  • Manage daily activity, pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity tracking through Salesforce CRM.

Strategic Account Management

  • Build relationships with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.

  • Lead consultative sales engagements focused on diagnostic solutions, operational efficiency, and testing strategy optimization.

  • Develop account growth plans that expand utilization across complex healthcare organizations.

  • Influence testing pathways and adoption strategies.

Clinical & Scientific Expertise

  • Represent Labcorp's oncology and precision medicine portfolio, including molecular and genomic testing solutions.

  • Translate clinical evidence into business-focused recommendations.

  • Maintain current knowledge of oncology diagnostics and precision medicine trends.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with sales support functions, medical affairs, operations, market access, and leadership teams to support growth initiatives.

  • Monitor competitive activity and market opportunities.

  • Participate in local or national conferences which may require weekend or evening availability.

Minimum requirements

  • High School Diploma with 9 years of experience; or Associate degree with 7 years experience; or Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a scientific discipline with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree in Business, Public Health, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or a scientific discipline with 3 of experience.

  • 5 years of business development, territory management, or strategic account management experience

  • 5 years of oncology sales, oncology diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, pharmaceutical oncology, biotechnology oncology, laboratory services, or precision medicine commercial experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or a scientific discipline.

  • 5 years of experience with oncology diagnostics, genomics, molecular testing, liquid biopsy, hereditary cancer testing, or precision medicine solutions and navigating through a lengthy sales cycle.

  • 5 years of experience supporting health systems, enterprise accounts, IDNs, academic medical centers, contracting processes, or strategic account management.

Additional Job Standards

  • Travel up to 75% within the assigned territory. Overnight travel may be required.

  • Experience in cold-calling, managing territories and strategic account management.

  • Demonstrated success achieving sales and growth objectives.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

The Oncology Development Executive (ODE) is a field-based business development professional responsible for driving growth, expanding market share, and developing strategic partnerships across oncology practices, pathology groups, cancer centers, health systems, IDNs, and academic medical centers. The ODE serves as a trusted advisor, helping customers implement diagnostic and precision medicine solutions that support clinical decision-making and improved patient care.
